French comfort wine

2006 Louis Jadot Bourgogne Chardonnay, Burgundy, France $20.95 LCBO #933077

Sometimes the act of going into the LCBO to pick a bottle of wine can be down right overwhelming! The endless rows of bottles can start to make your head spin. If you are anything like me, thinking sometimes hurts. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a great “go to” wine that can make your life simpler? You know…that familiar wine to go with a casual “comfort food” meal at home.

This week’s wine is all about familiar comfort. The 2006 Louis Jadot Bourgogne Chardonnay is my “go to” wine. It’s a jack-of-all-trades white with flavours of lemon, vanilla, tropical fruits and a touch of oak. This wine will go with a wide range of foods from roast chicken to grilled salmon. It even goes well with buttered popcorn. (If you don’t believe me, you should try it…trust me.)

At $20.95, this wine provides consistent quality on every bottle you open. So the next time that you get a brain cramp at the LCBO, this wine may be the comfort that you are looking for.
