Mom knows best…

2007 Pfaffenheim Cuvée Chevalier Pinot Blanc, Alsace, France $13.45 LCBO #22855

In honour of Mother’s Day, I wanted to make sure that I picked a wine that I knew my mother would enjoy. For my Manischewitz loving mother, this would be no easy task. It had to be fruity and easy drinking. According to mom, the 2007 Pfaffenheim Pinot Blanc hit the mark.

This dry white from France’s Alsace region is a well-constructed wine with flavours of Granny Smith apple and great acidity. It would make a great brunch time wine that pairs well with a veggie frittata or even French toast. As for cheese, I would recommend trying it with Muenster or even Swiss cheese.

At $13.45, this wine is a fantastic value. It delivers a ton of flavour without being out of balance. I would highly recommend picking up a bottle or two of this wine…but that’s just my opinion. Let me know what you think.
