Lammershoek is a three syllable word for good wine

26 May

2007 Lammershoek Chenin Blanc, Swartland, South Africa $18.95LCBO #058206

This week’s wine is all about trying something new and different. While Chenin Blanc is traditionally a white grape from France’s Loire Valley and South Africa has a long history of quality winemaking, I had never tried this type of wine from this region before.

The Lammershoek Chenin Blanc has flavours of honey and cantaloupe with a touch of vanilla on the finish. It’s a full-bodied wine that would pair well with cream based pastas or chicken.

At $18.95, there is enough value in this wine to pick up a bottle if you are interested in trying something new…but that’s just my opinion. Let me know what you think.
